Welcome!

Welcome to my little nook in cyberspace, currently under construction, soon to be brimming with interactive nuggets on my bodywork practice, wilderness and climbing guiding, and music past and present. For now, this site is almost solely dedicated to my Bodywork and Massage Therapy practice ... read, breathe deeply, enjoy!

(For information on wilderness and climbing guiding, please email me.
And for a listen to my music, check it out on a free player at ReverbNation!)

What I Do

I provide advanced therapeutic bodywork sessions for athletes, those suffering from injury, and anyone looking to revitalize and restore their body's optimal functioning.

I tend to describe my work more as "bodywork" than "massage," as our session together could involve assisted stretching, proprioceptive resetting, and movement awareness exercises, as well as various styles of manual therapy (massage) to free your muscular and connective tissue (fascial) systems ... the ultimate goal being, always, to apply whatever best meets your body's needs.

My Rates (for now!)

60-minute session: $70
90-minute session: $95
120-minute session: $120

Please, let's talk if this is something you really need and can't afford.

Location

Your session will be on Capitol Hill in Seattle. My practice space might be changing as you read this (I'll change this when I'm in a more permanent place), so I'll let you know specifically where to go when you book a session.

Questions ... Answered!

What should I wear?

Anything you show up in is fine. You'll undress to your level of comfort while I'm out of the room and cover yourself with a comfortable sheet (and blanket if you'd like it for warmth). Some later sessions might be more active, and for these I'll ask you to wear something you can move around in that still allows access to whatever tissues we're working on. For most people, a pair of shorts, and for women a sports bra, serve this purpose well.

Is there some certification required to do bodywork?

Yes. In Washington, we're called LMP's (licensed massage practitioners). My license number is MA60160115.

Do you take insurance?

I can currently accept cases for PIP (personal injury protection) and L & I (labor and industries, i.e. worker's comp). Beyond that, I'm in the process with a handful of Washington insurance providers; I'll update this as it changes!

Do you do energy work?

Well … yes and no. In my experience, to separate "energy" from "the body" is a disservice to both. Our physical and energetic bodies tend to both show patterns of dysfunction and holding pretty readily (have you noticed?); working with one is working with the other.

More questions?

Shoot me a line here. I'm happy to chat about what's going on for you, and how what I do could benefit (and who I could refer you to if I'm not the best match).
